Servers optimized for RSA applications on Intel® architecture, developed in weeks for high availability and improved cost / performance
Palo Alto, CA and East Rochester, NY - June 25, 2014 -
Five9 Network Systems, a provider of specialized servers, workstations, and computing solutions for OEM customers in printing, government,
telecommunications, medical and other verticals, announced that it is providing Rochester Software Associates (RSA) with server-based application
platforms that are deployed in RSA customer locations across the country.
RSA provides world-class production print workflow software solutions to in-plant and corporate print centers directly and through leading
manufacturers of digital production printers and multi-function devices. An unanticipated early end-of-life (EOL) announcement from RSA’s OEM
server provider threatened RSA’s ability to deliver high quality, reliable servers with its solutions. Seeking an alternative server provider,
RSA turned to Five9 Network Systems (Five9NS).
"Our goal at Five9NS is not to provide just a short-term solution or copy an existing configuration, but to ask in-depth questions that give
us a keen understanding of our customer’s requirements including product life-cycle expectations and budget. We are then able to make a more
qualified recommendation that incorporates these factors with the right mix of innovative technologies to the final design," said Souheil Saliba,
founder and CEO of Five9NS.
A review with Five9NS presented the opportunity to evaluate selection of alternative CPUs, motherboards, chassis form factors, memory, storage
options, and other component alternatives that best fit the specific application for RSA’s servers. As a Platinum level member of Intel®’s
Technology Provider Program, Five9NS was able to research various processors that RSA could incorporate into its server design. The result for
RSA was a number of new systems that met performance requirements and enabled RSA to offer higher performance servers with more CPU power and
storage without increased cost.
"The recommended design changes made by the Five9NS design team were compelling; giving us increased product performance without increasing costs
to customers. As an OEM, Five9NS guarantees a longer lifecycle unlike other vendors that change configurations almost monthly. This decreases our
service costs and increases the reliability of our solutions. Our partnership with Five9NS enables us to continue to provide high performance,
reliable servers to our valued customers," said Tim Kelly, senior vice president at RSA.
